Oct 27, 2019 · Once the tapered pin comes loose it tears up the tapered seat in the boom. Most manufacturers offer a weld in end for the boom to fix it. I am pretty certain Bobcat has in the past. I just did my Deere 329 and it took about 3hrs to remove the quicktach, cut the old boom ends off, grind, fixture, weld and paint the boom ends.

I'm glad that the JD QA system has these sheer pins so I don't have to monkey with twisted components when the loader is maxed out with an unbalanced load as highlighted by some of the posts listed by s219.
